Rock City Regional 2020

March 4-7 Breakaway competed at the Arkansas Regional in Little Rock. Our robot, Vanguard, was wildly successful. We finished as finalists, losing in the final matches to the alliance led by our friends, team 16, Bombsquad. We also won the Quality Award. Team 3937, Breakaway, enjoyed the great energy at the event as every team was encouraging and positive throughout the three days.

Guests of Honor

The regional is our biggest event we run and host, and it seems to get better every year. Many guests attended and spoke such as Harding University President Bruce McLarty, State Senator Jonathan Dismang, and Mat Faulkner, CIO of Think Idea and one of the city leaders behind Searcy’s hosting Small Business Revolution, Season 4. We also received media attention from KATV’s Good Afternoon Arkansas and 103.7 The Buzz. Breakaway is so grateful for those who brought attention to our mission of spreading FIRST and creative innovation through STEM to even more of our community.

More Than Robots

Unfortunately, the Arkansas Regional was the end of our season. FIRST reluctantly made the call to cancel all other competitions, including the World Championship for which we had qualified. Our hearts go out to every student, mentor, family member, and friend that have all worked hard to make this program what it is. Keeping everyone’s safety and health a priority, Breakaway supports this decision and will continue to reach out to other teams to help in any way possible.

Thank you so much to everyone who made this season, while short, an amazing process to be a part of.

Best wishes, Team 3937 Breakaway

THANK YOU SO MUCH TO OUR WONDERFUL SPONSORS!!!
