Destination Deep Space Week 2

This is my last Week 2 of build season as a member of Breakaway 3937. It's been a rapid four years, and as the end of my time in FIRST draws near, it’s easy to feel as if time is careening along faster and faster. Even though we have only just begun the 2019 season, it is moving by quickly.

In order to commit to our build tradition, I cannot give specific updates on what the build team has been working on since kickoff. I can assure you, though, that the robot will have wheels. It will be solid. And it will be able to move. That’s all I’m allowed to say for now.

In the meantime, our Chairman's team has been making record time on preparing the Chairman’s essay and executive summary. Our marketing team has been working on creating our 2019 business plan and taking pictures of the progress we are making. There is a lot to do but everybody is in high spirits!

In addition to the normal challenges of build season, our FIRST Lego League team is headed to Fayetteville for their state competition this weekend. They already won the Champion’s Award at the Searcy Qualifier, and we hope this weekend they will continue their solid legacy at state. Go Mindsweepers!

Finally, we are excited to report that Breakaway has for the first time a dedicated practice field. The field is a half field, but it is being built to the specifics of the actual game field. This will greatly enhance our pre-regional practices once our practice bot is ready. We are thankful for volunteers and alumni who have donated their time to assemble the field. It is the people that invest in this program that truly make Team 3937 a family that’s #morethanrobots!

Thank you sponsors!
